Quality Control

In view of Departmental order No.- 2/PS-47/80/3787, Agri, Patna Dated 25-03-1981, first of all sanction of Quality Control Laboratory had been given in 1981 and laboratory became functional in 1982. In this laboratory, analysis of only nutrient material of inorganic fertilizer had been done. Analysis of pesticide sample through volumetric method had been started in the year 1987-88. The Quality Control Laboratory had been notified for testing of fertilizer through the Department of Agriculture, Government of Bihar notification No. 74 Dated 02-02-2005.

The facility of testing of organic fertilizer had been established in this Quality Control Laboratory from the year October, 2011.

In the year 2012, Quality Control Laboratory, Bihar, Patna had been notified as State level Quality Control Laboratory for testing and analysis of bio fertilizer through Department of Agriculture, GoB notification No. 944 Dated 31-07-2012.

In presently, three regional Quality Control Laboratory with construction cost 496 lakhs has been established at Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur and Saharsa. In these laboratory testing of inorganic and pesticide sample has been started. Thus, capacity of testing of fertilizer and pesticide in the state has been depicted below:
