To communicate with the press, issue of press notes on behalf of the tone and review office of Hindi, English and Urdu newspapers published in the state, issue of accreditation and certificates to press representatives in different areas, issue of classified advertisements in newspapers. Publications and displays, centralized payment of bills, publication of publicity literature in different languages about the achievements and development programs of the government, cultural programmes, publicity of achievements of the Government of Bihar within the state and through information and public relations created by the department.

To disseminate and propagate government policies, programmes, schemes and achievements, effectively for public awareness. Documentation of progress and achievements of various department. To know and understand the mood, perception and feedback of people on different issues by analysis of news published in the media and to arrange quick response of governments views/ point among general public through media as necessary. To disseminate policies, programmes and achievements of various departments for educating people and mass communication by performing role of facilitator by using various, method and resources of educating people and mass communication. Formation of creativeness for publicity of programmes, schemes and achievements of various departments through poster, pamphlet, folder, booklet, etc. and to facilitate the advertisement work.
