Dairy, Fisheries and Animal resource department maintains the administrative control of different programmes launched under Animal husbandary sector,Dairy development and Fisheries Sector. Its activities in brief covers animal health care, Live stock product, Fisheries product, Dairy product and development, disease diagnostic programmes and animal welfare by implementing Prevention of cruelity to Animal , Act to name a few.

Vision

The Present milk production of the state is 128.53 lakhs MT per year. It has been targeted to take this production level up to 159.9 lakhs MT per year by 2028. The milk processing capacity is presently 48.55 lakhs litres per day which has been targeted to increase to 51.7 lakhs litres per day by the year 2028. Presently the egg production in the state is 34400.5 lakhs per annum which has been targeted to reach 62025 lakhs per annum by the year 2028. The present meat production of the state is 4.04 lakhs MT per year which has been targeted to increase to 4.94 lakhs MT per year by the year 2028. The present fish production of 9.17 lakhs MT per year is targeted to increase to 12.7 lakhs MT per year in 2028..
