The Civil Aviation Department, Government of Bihar, is committed to the safe, sustainable, and inclusive development of civil aviation in the State. It formulates policies and plans and implements aviation infrastructure projects to enhance connectivity, economic growth and regional integration, in coordination with MoCA, AAI, BCAS, DGCA and other stakeholders. The Department oversees the development and modernization of airports and airstrips, expansion of air connectivity including UDAN services and strengthening of safety and regulatory frameworks. It also promotes aviation skill development through its Flying Training Institute and operates aircraft and helicopters for official, emergency, disaster response and relief operations, contributing to efficient governance and public safety.
