Acheivements
- An additional court of Additional District and Session Judge has been created in Patna for expeditious disposal of cases recommended by Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in connection with the Hon'ble Patna High Court.
- Four additional Special Courts of Additional District and Session Judges have been created in Patna for expeditious disposal of fodder scam cases of Animal Husbandry Dept. by CBI under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in connection with the Hon'ble Patna High Court.
- Fourteen Family Courts have been notified in fourteen district head-quarters, namely - Gaya, Chapra, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Purnea, Monghyr, Bhojpur, East Champaran, West Champaran, Siwan, Begusarai, Samastipur, Katihar and Rohtas, of Bihar under Central Sponsored Scheme (50-50 percentum of total expenditure to be borne by Central and State Govt.) for expeditious disposal of family disputes.
- Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Munshif, Bikramganj, has been transferred to Sasaram, Rohtas district headquarter and the Court of Judicial Magistrate has been transferred to Bikramganj Sub-Divisional HQ.
- The action of establishing a Court of District and Session Judge at Jamui has been completed.
Future Programmes
It is proposed to establish six Family Courts at six district head-quarters of the State in the financial year of 2005-06. The districts that have been selected for this purpose are - Nawada, Madhepura, Nalanda, Sitamarhi, and Gopalganj.
