The Higher Education Department, Government of Bihar, is entrusted with the responsibility of planning, promoting, and strengthening higher education across the State. The Department oversees State Universities, Government Degree Colleges, Constituent Colleges, and other institutions of higher learning. It formulates and implements policies and programmes aimed at improving access, quality, equity, research, innovation, digital transformation, faculty development, and institutional governance. Through sustained reforms and strategic initiatives, the Department is committed to building a robust, inclusive, and future-ready higher education system that contributes to the intellectual, social, and economic development of Bihar.
